THROUGH THE PENINSULA
2020-ongoing
The Sinai Peninsula is a peninsula linking Africa and Asia, bounded by the Mediterranean and Red Sea. The region is well known for its deep spiritual significance and religious history, as well as its allure and wilderness.
During my youth, news about geopolitical conflicts stemming from the northern part of the region were constantly flowing, alongside words of appreciation for the beauty of its landscapes and inhabitants. This sparked my curiosity, and so I've been frequently visiting and documenting since.

The Sinaï is home to more than 20 Bedouïn tribes. They were once the primary inhabitants of Sinai — Each tribe immigrated at a different time and has its own history. Indigenous people's livelihoods are deeply linked to the land and natural resources on which they rely.
As someone who was brought up in a major urban city immersed in noise pollution and concrete, experiencing this closeness to nature has strengthened my sense of attentiveness to the environment. The fact that we all share the same planet binds us all together.
I aim to capture the essence of the land through an unfiltered lens. By shooting analog, it allows me to capture the spirit of the moment in a non-interventional way.
