DOLCE FAR NIENTE
Sicily is an island with a remarkable history. Having been ruled by great powers and empires such as the Roman, Vandal, Byzantine, Islamic, Hohenstaufen, Catalan, and the Spanish, the island is a Mediterranean paradise of intertwining cultures.
Dolce Far Niente is an Italian saying that translates to pleasant idleness, blissful laziness. There is a certain satisfaction in doing nothing in a society where we’re conditioned to constantly be doing . This series captures stillness and relaxation—a visual narration of the art of doing nothing.
